Publication Ethics

INDONESIAN JOURNAL OF AGILE MANAGEMENT (IJAM) is strongly committed to upholding academic integrity and publication ethics in accordance with national and international standards. This ethical policy applies to all parties involved in the publication process: authors, editors, reviewers, and journal managers.

A. Ethics for Authors

Authors are required to:

  1. Prepare original manuscripts, free from plagiarism, and not previously published in other journals.

  2. Accurately and honestly cite the work of others.

  3. Disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of results.

  4. Ensure that the data used is valid, verifiable, and presented transparently.

  5. Clearly indicate each author's contribution to the research and writing process.

  6. Include publication consent from all relevant parties.

  7. Respond to review feedback professionally and promptly.

Violations of authorship ethics, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, or multiple submissions, will result in manuscript rejection and a temporary ban on future submissions.

B. Ethics for Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  1. Ensuring the manuscript selection process is objective, fair, and based solely on scientific merit.

  2. Maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts during the review process.

  3. Refraining from using manuscript content for personal or third-party interests without the author's permission.

  4. Avoiding conflicts of interest that may influence editorial decisions.

  5. Handling ethical complaints transparently and professionally.

  6. Supporting article quality improvement through constructive communication with authors and reviewers.

C. Ethics for Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  1. Conduct objective, fair, and evidence-based assessments of the manuscript’s scientific content.

  2. Provide clear, detailed, and constructive feedback.

  3. Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript content under review.

  4. Not use information in the manuscript for personal, commercial, or other research purposes.

  5. Notify the editor of any potential conflicts of interest.

  6. Decline review requests if the subject matter is outside their expertise or if they are unable to complete the review on time.

D. Ethics for Journal Managers

Journal managers are responsible for:

  1. Providing transparent and accountable journal management infrastructure.

  2. Ensuring consistent implementation of publication ethics policies.

  3. Offering regular training for editors and reviewers on academic ethical standards.

  4. Ensuring open access to information related to editorial processes, Open Access policies, and publication fees.

  5. Documenting all submission, review, revision, and publication decision processes.

E. Handling Suspected Ethical Violations

If an ethical violation is identified:

  1. The editor will verify the data and request clarification from the author.

  2. If serious misconduct (plagiarism, data fabrication, duplication) is confirmed, the journal will:

    • Reject or retract the published article.

    • Publish a public retraction statement.

    • Impose administrative sanctions on the author in accordance with institutional policy.

3. Severe cases will be reported to the author’s affiliated institution and/or relevant professional ethics bodies.
